ORGANIC QUILTING

I am not a fan of extremely dense quilting on my everyday quilts.

There is something to be said for free form wandering.

It is fun, fast and very visible.

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

This is a paper pieced project from Olive Friedlander I bought online. I love the quirky tree look.

More important is the emphasis on relating that cold wind blown feeling using  curve line quilting.

Can you feel the wind blowing? Or at least imagine it?

I know I am in sunny CA, but I'm from Michigan. I know cold.

And sometimes I miss the snow.

NOTHING LIKE TRADITION

Nothing like a log cabin quilt to speak to tradition. I also think it is the ultimate scrap quilt. The logs are cut at 1 1/4 inch wide and the setting is called barn raising. I think everyone should make one. Or at least own one if you can.

THE NEED TO CREATE

So how did the first day of the new year go for you?

Did you start a new project?
A little daily creating with no purpose in mind got me off to a great start. Looking forward to hearing more from you this year. Sharing......that's what it's about for me!
