LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRE

Does anyone remember that show? Much simpler times when we had shows  like that. This little quilt reminded me of that time in my life. I have made this one for a guild member. This is paper pieced and was from a magazine a few years back. If you want the info, leave a comment and I'll find it for you. Happy Quilting!

CHRISTMAS SPIRIT

One of two pillows to dress up the living room for the Christmas season.. It is hard to see but the front is silk, FMQ done with rayon thread. Wool batting helps accentuate the feather design. The best part.....it was in my stash.

PLAY TIME

There are lots of very important things I need to work on.

This was not one of them.

Sometimes, you have to follow where your passion takes you.

BACK IN THE SADDLE AGAIN

This is a customer quilt. I had a LOT of concerns. One, it is pieced using an interfacing technique that is not removed.

Second, it is machine appliqued onto another piece of fabric and the underside is not removed.

So essentially, I quilted through 5 layers including the batting.

It was sheer joy. Not a hitch! I used a microtex needle since it is all batik fabric.

Now all I have to do is tie and bury all those threads.

No problem !

QUILTING AGAIN

There is nothing like natural light to really see your quilting.

Even the shadows add to the mystery.

This was an unusual color combination that is really beautiful.

I think the owner will like the quilting.

BAGGED ANOTHER GREAT RETREAT

I know ...pretty corny since this retreat focused on making bags.
Miss Chuck is really focused. ( only her mom calls her Charlotte)

Miss Judy did bags and quilts. She can multitask...

Probably discussing what time to make those Cosmos.

Our teacher, Miss Bag Lady Extraordinaire Sandy.

Number one of two for Miss Debra

This beauty belongs to Miss Dona

Debbie was in high gear

I requested one...Halloween of course.

Miss Christine prefers to bead and doesn't she do it well?

Miss Judy ......taking it on the road.

Now that's a glam bag

Miss Pam....oh so beautiful.
A great time had by all including those whose pictures I have misplaced.
I wonder if that missing disk is in a bag?
Have a great week.

I DON'T DO CUTE

OK well sometimes I do. Aren't these adorable? I love pincushions.

These little guys are somewhat labor intensive,
but worth all the effort.

I think our retreat participants will love them also.

FOLK ART BASKETS

My groove took me to this project instead. I have done this Pat Sloan pattern in the past in a traditional fabric palette. Autumn is on the way, so I thought I would get a jump on it and our first class project. This would be great as Christmas or African baskets also.

WORKING ON THE GROOVE

Sometimes it takes a while to get back in the groove of any art or craft. I have always liked this design and found a few finished blocks to put together. We'll see what happens over the next week. How do you get inspired?

NEW PROJECT

I am really enjoying this pattern.

It is called Bowtie Pasta with a Twist

From Modern Quilt Relish

The orange units look like odd hourglass blocks.

You know I love odd.
