EVERYONE NEEDS A LITTLE BLACK DRESS AND PEARLS

I saw something similar on Pintrest. The artist had painted the tree on canvas and glued the buttons on. I absolutely loved the idea. Of course we quilters have fabric as our canvas.

I think I will have it framed without glass. What a great way to use up a few buttons.

URBAN AFRICA QUILTED

I have a lot to say about this piece, but I'll keep it short.
The setting fabric is linen.

I wanted the quilting to be...more pronounced so I chose a dark 40 wt thread.

I am not a fan of dense quilting and I wanted this to feel less quilted and more stitched without the actual hand stitching.

The batting is flannel...one layer so it would be flat.

It is still very heavy and hopefully the weight will help it to hang flat.
I think it would look impressive on the right wall.
Thanks for listening.

CHEVRONS

I found this tutorial at play-crafts.com called shattered chevrons and thought I would give it a try. I give her 5 stars for great pictures and directions. It really is a fabric portrait of me. You know I would use all of these prints together. There are back and white, and dots, batiks. It currently is not quilted, but probably will be. I had this 12 1/2 inch album frame from JoAnns and it is perfect for my portrait. Wouldn't this be great in group of three or five on a wall? Try doing your own fabric portrait. It's really fun.

COMPLETED DRUCKARDS PATH

I was asked to post a picture of the completed quilt. I choose a yellow and black stripe for the binding. I am very pleased with it and have decided it will serve as a sample for the FMQ classes.

SUMMER PLANS

Time just flies......I wrapped up my Wednesday class and then went camping. I managed to read a couple of books ( nothing I would recommend) and do some hand work. We returned yesterday and I took a doll class today. I'm not thrilled with her hands and feet, but I love how fast it goes together. I want to do more dolls this summer and dye fabric and try thermal  screening. Of course I want to do several quilts as well, and then there is knitting.....
